My $1000 Quad Core PC, Part 1: The Parts

Parts of my new $1000 Quad Core Beast. I built this in Feburary of 2008. Specs: DFI Lanparty Dark P35-T2RS Xeon X3210 Quad Core @ 3.2Ghz (stock = 2.13) Thermalright Ultra 120A G.Skill 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2-1000 eVGA Geforce 8800GT 512MB Western Digital 320GB 7200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s BenQ DW1655 16x Lightscribe DVD burner Cooler Master Centurion 5 OCZ GamerXStream 700W PSU Thermalright Ultra 120A w/ Scythe S-Flex 120mm Logitech G15 Keyboard Logitech G5 Mouse Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zaJKnfkoGFQ Commonly asked questions: -Why Xeon?- The Xeon Quad Core (X3210) in my system is a socket 775 "Kentsfield" Xeon and is no different then a Core 2 Quad other then in packaging and marketing. It is a desktop Xeon, IT IS NOT A SERVER XEON. It works with the same motherboards and ram as a Core 2 Quad as well. No need for special server parts. Performance is equal to that of a Core 2 Quad at the same clockspeed. Xeon X3210 = Core 2 Quad Q6400 (never released) Xeon X3220 = Core 2 Quad Q6600 -Why 700W PSU?- The 700W PSU may appear to be overkill at first. But future upgrades such as more hard drives, new optical drives (when I finally go all SATA), and a new videocard down the road, make a 700W PSU more reasonable. Also you gotta take capacitor aging into effect. All in all a 600W to 700W PSU is not a bad idea if you want some headroom for a system such as this. Also remember that overclocking the CPU makes the CPU use more power (especially if you up the voltage).
